Nightly (Not) From Phoenix

It was promoted (on ch. 12, I believe) that Cronkite J-School award
recipient Brian Williams would originate NBC Nightly News from Phoenix
today. It may have been yesterday and today (sans butcher cover ;))
or today and tomorrow--I'm not sure, but whatever.

So what happened? Ann Curry was filling in from 30 Rock today, with
Brian disclaimed as being back tomorrow.

Logistics? Satellite origination problems? Joke Arpaio said no? ::)

Brian received the award at a luncheon (at the downtown Sheraton) on Wednesday afternoon. The luncheon ended around 1:00; Brian implied that he would be flying back to NY after the luncheon. It's unlikely/impossible that he could have made it back to 30 Rock in time for the newscast (6:30 ET).
