Nights - Afternoons in Atlanta

Heard the good, the bad, the ugly on Mornings and Middays in Atlanta radio. Let's cover all dayparts-

Best and worst Afternoon shows and Night shows in Atlanta? Personally I hear too much talk on Star with C n R. And if Star is going hotter with music and production, the new night guy is pretty Hot AC. Ok personality, however doesn't fit with attempt to be hipper at night.

Um... what...? I was so interested in your take on the ATL's PM/Nite-time #s...

That's it...? No other assesments of other stations...? You do know there are 20-30 other frequencies in the A...? Theres AM... PM... FM... AM... but you only discuss 1 freq? You are a light-weight!

You are correct. Sorry.
Long time reader but brand new poster. Looking to get more active on board and figured it was a start. I listened to Star last today and seems many posts are related to them; guess it was top of mind.
Big fan of Axel. Always enjoyed him on 99x and was happy to hear him on Rock. C n R would be better in the mornings than the mess for sure. More or less stopped listening to the river once Rock popped up.
Ryan on V-103 always seems to be having fun as does greg street but not really my cup of tea. Johnny on Q is new so? But seems good. Adam Bomb is for sure a CHR jock, and good at it.
Don't catch Lance much on Bull being far down on presets. Is he middays or afternoons anyway? Sounds like I've heard him at all times during the day

Love doing nights in Atlanta. I also enjoy most of the night shows in this town(yes, I do aircheck at length). To discuss this topic from a purely pragmatic point of view, I will share the following: I make it a point to sound more "Hot AC" at night. If you knew a night guy's salary, then you would know that bonuses are of utmost importance. With that being said, my friend Adam at Q100 and I have two COMPLETLEY separate bonus demos which we discussed at lunch the other day. So the more clubby/18-24/college crowd he is at night, and the more upper demo "Hot AC" I sound, we both win. One other thing I always wanted to say on these boards since I don't participate much.....

OUR RESPECTIVE DEMOS AND LISTENERS DON'T GIVE A **IT ABOUT WHAT PEOPLES' OPINIONS ON THIS BOARD ARE. IT'S JUST GEEKS LIKE US THAT LOVE TO TALK SHOP.

And with THAT being said, let's discuss and geek ourselves away.... :)

Welcome to Atlanta, Darik.

Margot and Orf on Dave just sound like real people. It feels good to hear that. Although my tuner does hit Q100 alot during nights :-D

Some of the old farts might remember Greg Pichano (spelling?) on WSB AM way back when. Now there was a driving home companion. Very personable.

I remember this very well. This was back when WSB played MOR music and was all-local all-day.
