Nighttime blowtorches

Coming home tonight, I didn't have my XM unit, so that gave me the ability to scan the AM dial a bit for some nighttime radio. I'm surprised how many stations come in here in Atlanta.

650 WSM - Home of the Grand Ole Opry. My mother listens to this station at night when they don't have 97.1 on.
700 WLW - Aka "The Big One." There was bickering about the Bengals vs. the Browns.
740 CHWO - They were talking about the school shooting in Montreal.
750 WSB - The big whizbee came in excellent as usual. Surprising compared to its neighbors.
760 WJR - Detroit. Commercials were on, but I had a feeling it was a big city up there because it mentioned the great lakes in a sweeper.
770 WABC - Promoting their Rush-Hannity powerhouse.
780 WBBM - Chicago's news station.
820 WBAP - Dallas traffic.
840 WHAS - Louisville traffic, and a sweeper. Show I didn't catch. This came in extremely clear. Like I was right under the tower.
880 WCBS - Just news.
1010 WINS - I'm surprised I got this. It's listed as a Class B station, even though it's 50,000 watts day and night, so I wasn't sure how powerful it really was.
1030 WBZ - Odd how the heritage blowtorch of Boston is the second banana.
1050 WEPN - Recap of a game where John Sterling was giving out some cornball call.
1090 XEPRS - The Mighty XX sure has fallen from grace. I'm surprised the signal went THIS far.

That's as far up as I got tonight.

You can't forget the station promo'ed to be heard in 40 states at night: 1120 KMOX, St. Louis.

I've also gotten bits and pieces of KYW 1060 from Philly as well as KDKA out of Pittsburgh. Also 720 out of Chicago comes in fairly well depending on where you are.

You also missed 670 - who promotes 38 states and 2 Canadian provinces.

Their sports now is weak, but their country programming in the 70's and their heritage NBC origination as WMAQ was killer.
