Nikki Landry announced on her facebook page that "today is a sad day. It is her last show here in San Francisco on the Wolf."
She didn't go into more details about this announcement.
Why would one DJ leaving the building mean a change in format?
Actually, in the 12+ ratings, the station is about mid-pack - higher than KKSF, Alice, Live 105, MOViN, and others. It's the most successful format on 95.7 in awhile - certainly more popular than Max-FM and The Drive. I'm not sure about Z-95.7 or The Bear (which was also country music). As I remember, those two were also about mid-pack in the ratings.
Though country music is not big in the Bay Area - The Wolf has the format virtually all to themseles, unless you count KRTY, whose listeners are mainly in the South Bay. It's hard to see what format hole the station could fill - Classic Hits is about the only format not represented in the Bay Area, and that format hasn't being doing so well here lately. Yeah, I know..."execution..."
