NINE Website is back-up

It seems that NINE's website is ready for primetime. It's up right now. So is the stream.

I wonder how they will fill in the commecials considering AFTRA and other DCMA issues with regards to voice talent fees. I can't imagine Harvey or any of the other of the brains there letting that one slip by.

I also wonder whether they will adopt a localized break format like they did on the FM's. That'll be fun to watch....er listen.

Actually, the talents settled amongst themselves and agreed to fees that were reasonable. 99.5% of all commercials are okay to play on the web and over the air. Still, there is technology that is readily available to replace ads on the web stream.

Re: commercial fill-ins

<font color=3333ff>There's plenty of stations that still broadcast their spots over the net. I'm thinkin they are not getting caught, and no one really cares as much as they used to.

It's a shame this country is the way it is. Corporate policies and greed, always threatens and cripples progress/advancement in technology.

I listened for a bit last night....they air the feed from 99.9. During commercials they aired these compilations of movies or something.....funny sayings like "Is this on the air" and someone saying "Yaaaa" over and over again.....a little funny yet a bit annoying at the same time. Steve and Joey also recorded some sweepers with them saying things like "HI BANGLADESH!"<P ID="signature">______________

Been listening all day to the stream. Note you don't hear <any> commericals right now. So they must be doing somthing there with a fill-in system. Seems to me they prepared another automation system for the stream only which might be another "station". There are some problems with the syncronization of breaks as there is some dead air at the end of a few breaks. But considering what they are doing there, this is merely a growing pain until they resolve the bugs.

The nice thing is the stream stays up. I like that....

Overall, it's a HUGE improvement over when the format first launched last year. Now if the Energy guys could convince Harvey and Matt to let them do a Saturday night dance party...that would be killer.
