Ninety-Nine Point 7 "The Fox" is now Ninety Nine 7 "The Fox"

No more point!

Are you saying they're pointless? :)

Sorry couldn't resist!

I don't get The Fox or The Ride for that matter. Both are supposed to be Classic Rock stations and that's okay. I don't care for Classic Rock all that much but I think both stations play songs that stray out of the format a bit and it makes them sound like oldies stations sometimes. In other words I find that I like it. Now if I like it I can't help but think there is something wrong.....make sense? Not a complaint, an observation.

I guess this post is pointless too!

They're not consistent with saying "Ninety Nine Seven". Some of the announcers still say "Ninety Nine Point Seven", as well as in the sweepers, breakers & commercial spots. The presentation needs to be tightened up. Everybody needs to be on board with this. All of the announcers as well the breakers, sweepers & station ID's in commercials have to be consistent. Either you're going to execute this or you're not.

AllAccess says they're Classic Rock.

Why are they then programming Green Days' "When I Come Around" & Metallica?

One thing they're consistent with: For the past 15 yrs. I've been here, it's been a song by Pink Floyd, Radar Love by Golden Earring & Blinded By the Light by Manfred Mann's Earth Band @least every hour.

"When I Come Around" is from 1994. A 23-year-old song is classic rock now. Metallica has been around since the mid-'80s. Why would they NOT be classic rock?

Classic rock is a constantly evolving format. "Blinded by the Light" was 26 years old 15 years ago (2002). "Tusk" was 23 years old, as was "Another Brick in the Wall." Classic rock stations were playing both. Were they doing so in 1987? Most likely not.

Very true, just like Adult Contemporary. Today's Adult Contemporary is quite different today than it was in 2007.
