Nit-picking Channel 3 Hartford for fun :)

Something I've always noticed about WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 of Hartford during any of their newscasts: Is there a real reason why the "Eyewitness News 3" bug goes off the screen during the weather segments? They keep it on during the sports segments. As far as I know, channels 8, 30 and 61 keep their logos on the screen with their newscasts and weather.

The weather logo blocks graphics such as temps. But to correct you 8 and 61 do take their logos down also. 30 did with their old logo too, not sure if they do with their new logo which is higher on the screen so they might remove it during weather still.

I just think its time for the stations to get a transparent logo like the ones they use during network shows. FOX 61, 3, 30 all have one already so I don't see why they don't use it during newscasts.

I've lived in a lot of places, and there is not a station I have watched that I know of that keeps the bug up during weather, for the reasons stated in the previous post.

WWLP in Springfield leaves their bug up during weather, but that is because when the new weather templates were designed, they were 'assisted' by the graphics department to leave the 'bug region' clear, and 9 out of 10 of the weather graphics do not pertrude the weather bug. (Occasionally one does, but that is typically one not co-produced and usually gets fixed rather quickly).

Now, that's a TV station that takes their weather coverage seriously :-D
