NJ 101.5 All Forrester all the time ?

A

ACMan

Guest
Before I went to sleep I was listening to Tommy G who had Doug Forrester on commenting on Joanne Corzines negative comments about her ex husband Jon. I just woke up and Jim Gearhart just said he was endorsing Forrester. The Jersey Guys endorsed Forrester. Has this station always had a republican slant ?

IIRC, under Press Broadcasting, they seemed to be pushed in a more legitimate talk station direction. I seem to remember them having more of a populist slant than anything else. When Millenium took over, they sounded to me to be moving in a more Hot Talk direction, but also a more conservative posture concerning state of NJ politics.

After all the BS the Jersey Guys went through with Codey, did you really expect them to endorse Corzine?

Ever since Millennium took over, they've been all-Republican all the time. They have actually fired all the hosts who didn't spew this garbage during their shifts--although I'm sure they did it for some other "reason." (Mary Walter's show seems like a good reason, doesn't it? LOL.)

That's funny. I remember someone posting here saying that Press Communications' "The Breeze" group of stations were taking a conservative slant, what with Captain Jack every so often going off on the air and making like Rush Limbaugh, to provide an alternative viewpoint to the "liberal-leaning" (in the poster's opinion) NJ 101.5. So much for that, huh?

I guess Millennium has an agenda that they want to publicize, a fringe benefit of acquiring NJ 101.5. As an independent voter, I find this disappointing - I prefer my talk radio to be a bit more unbiased, weighing the positive and negative aspects of each topic. Millennium's approach is not a bright one - they stand to alienate some of their listeners by doing this.

Give it another week and Doug Forrester will slither back under that rock from whence he slithered. The dude's toast.

Look years back how Gearhart and his cronies crucified Jim Florio, non-stop. If they tried that in some third world country they would of been hung. God Bless America, for some people that is.

Wait a sec,,,THIS time it's different.
I mean practically everyone would have to move out of NJ if the "Bearded One" got elected. A guy who made his killing on the stock market off the back of honest people's work and now buying his way into the kingdom? No thanks!

I think even the most liberal left wingers would vote Repub for Forrester this time.

You have in a few words very accurately sized up the situation. And you have stumbled on the truth about Tommy G, a truth that some posters to this board refused to face up to a few weeks ago--despite any claims to the contrary, he's just the latest right-wing shill on an increasingly very predictable radio station.

Uh,no. Nothing is different. The same old right-wing station shilling for the same old right-wing candidate. And should "the bearded one" win, which is quite likely, no one at NJ101-5 will be leaving the state, because that would mean a missed opportunity to bitch about Corzine.

Would you be slandering any of the mostly Republican stockbrokers if they happened to be running for office? Corzine is not only very rich, he's been very charitable throughout his working life.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this liberal left-winger will join numerous other liberal left-wingers as well as some moderate left-wingers and even some Republicans fed up with Bush, Cheney, and their local offspring--all of whom will proudly cast a ballot for Jon Corzine.

Oh, and last I checked the campaign spending reports, Forrester is buying his way into the kingdom as well, after years of making a killing driving up the prescription drug prices paid by honest people.

Just to be fair in regard to Tommy G because I do enjoy his show unlike Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity he does criticize Bush so I respect him for that.
Edited by ACMan on 11/05/05 07:17 PM.

Wrong. I am an independent voter, but I can see that this country is in disarray because of the tactics and policies of President Dubya. I am definitely not going to vote for someone who was one of the top fundraisers for his re-election campaign.

> I just don't like the looks of Corzine one bit.

Just like radio personalities, politicians should be paid to do their job, not to look beautiful. We tried electing good-looking governors in the past (Whitman, McGreevey) and it didn't do us any good in the long run.

These days, you'd have to be insane NOT to criticize Bush. Pretty soon his approval rating will be lower than the unemployment rate.

You mean employment rate, right?

You mean "Flim flam" Florio don't you? He got everything he deserved. Thanks to 101.5 for leading the way too...

Liberal talk radio is not profitable talk radio. Look at the disaster known as "Air America." Liberal hosts like Alan Colmes flourished on the old WNBC back in the late 60s..that was a different time. The country is alot more conservative now...and nothing indicates that's going to change.

Yeh and who did they support to replace him, that lesbian crook Whitman, who screwed up the state worst than Jim, go check your history moron..

Well, nothing the conservatives want to see. You can bet your bottom dollar there'll be a backlash against all this garbage.
