NJ 101.5 Traffic Question

Has anyone noticed how out dated their Traffic is? We listen to Big Joe Henry during the weekend and the 2 hour car trip down the shore.....and when we hear about an accident on their traffic updates, and are at that spot, the accident is long gone.

Do they pre-record all their stuff and only update once every hour? I noticd one time the audio on Big Joe mucked up, his voice started, stopped, and the music was s till playing in the background, so is all his stuff pre-recorded too?

Also, it's either 102.7 or 106.7 that does the 10 second traffic. The only reason they do that is so they can fit in two 20 second live ads before and after, correct? ::)

NJ 101.5 on a NYC thread... why?
last i checked, NJ fast traffic was live. of course you know, most of the traffic people like jeff mckay, pete tauriello, etc. are in the metro/shadow location in Northern New Jersey. Jill Myra and Bob Williams are in the studios, but I don't know the locations of Melissa Axelworth?, Jennifer Budd, etc. They're live and they, like most traffic sources/stations gather their traffic from sources that aren't always immediate. However, they've offered the #1015 hotline for motorists to phone in what they see. I'm sure they'll try and validate the report before they air it. I'm sure they don't prerecord, that'd be news to me. Big Joe's live as well. You might have heard him, perhaps, on a day he was out doing a live remote. I think out of any of the stations that serve NJ and NYC/Philly metro, NJ 101.5 has the most comprehensive reports. Rush hour too! They even divide their reports between North and South. I like the fact that they at least offer detailed reports even during the middle of the night..
Try sticking that post where it truly belongs- New Jersey

The NJ 101.5 traffic report is usually given by the same reporter who does the traffic on 1010 WINS, and is as least as accurate as any other traffic report. All traffic reports have a degree of lag time before they are updated. I don't think it is any more so on 101.5.
