No AC in Amarillo? Also, RE: 102.9/103.1

I checked out Radio-Locator's Amarillo listings and they showed all the stations and their formats and noticed something missing, AC. Regular AC, not Hot AC. Is there a error in the listings or is Amarillo really AC-less?

While I'm in the subject of the Panhandle Radio Scene, I am aware of Family Radio's efforts to move 103.1 to 102.9 and subsequently upgrade to a 100kw signal. But what I'm wondering is is Family Radio looking to upgrade this signal to get more listeners or could they be looking to sell 102.9? I could see the latter as the orginization does need cash to keep afloat. Hmm, mabye the missing AC could appear there!<P ID="signature">______________

Amarillo has Mix 94.1 owned by Clear Channel

But Mix is a Hot AC. What I'm talking about is a Soft AC ala KOST or KYXY. I didn't see anything listed of that nature for Amarillo.

I wouldn't call Mix a hot AC. Don't be fooled by the Mix name; its lineup and playlist don't resemble a hot AC much at all. It may not sound like KOST or KYXY, but I'd say it sounds a lot closer to those two than it does KYSR or even KBIG. It's really a mainstream AC, neither hot nor soft.

Mix 94.1 KMXJ is definitely not Hot AC... Amarillo is really "Hot AC"less. I wouldn't even call Mix mainstream AC... it's just AC. Last I knew, it was being programmed (musically) by someone in Little Rock.

I love that we're talking about Southern California on the Texas board! Lubbock has an AC, Stars104.3. Doesn't sound anything like Kyxy though. They have Fox News at the top of every hour, and the playlist is... rather broad.
