NO AUDIO FROM ADOBE AUDITION 1.5

I have Adobe 1.5 on my home p.c but am getting nothing when I try to record. I can drag audio into the tracks, play & edit audio, but it records nothing. I tried messing with the pc's mixer, I tried running a patch cord from the front headphone jack to the rear speaker jack as a loopback & still nothing. Are there some kind of bus settings I'm overlooking? I just want it to record. ???

As an unrelated followup, but involving Adobe Audition... on one of our production computers, if we click on an audio file, it will open Adobe, but does not import the waveform. The only way to make it work is by first opening Audition, then opening or inserting the waveform.

Our other 5 units work like they should.

I've checked associations and everything I can think of, but no help.

I had that happen once to a production computer at the station I worked at. As it turned out, the hard drive died on that machine so XP/Audition were reinstalled on it. After then, it imported the wave files just fine. You may want to try uninstalling/reinstalling Audition first to see if that fixes it.

Wow...I tried the above tips & still nothing. I hope this isn't a stupid question, but how do I get Adobe to recognize my sound card/s? I have EMU & it's daughter card installed, but in the WAVE IN tab box the 3 it has are 1. SigmaTel Audio 2.Modem #0 Line Record, and 3. Wave Mapper. Shouldn't EMU be in there? ??? Thanks.

Does the EMU support WAV drivers? AA 1.5 does not support ASIO drivers - that could be your problem.

But it didn't work with my old sound card that was in there before either.
It's funny, I don't have any of EMU's software downloaded(tried THAT TOO & it wouldn't record so I uninstalled it for the time being) but my speakers still work. ???
