NO audio on sub Comet 50.3?

I've heard of some complaining of low audio on 50.3, but not NO audio. I've tried changing the lang. audio from Engl. to Spanish to French. Tried changing from STEREO to MONO. When I turn the VOL all the way up, I get the hiss and a very faint Spanish language radio station. I cannot be the only one with this issue. Sucks because some of the old Sci Fi crapfest films look halfway interesting.
On that TV, I use it for OTA only, using a big hulking 2 ton 1986 Curtis Mathes (pic) https://flic.kr/p/EbYxsW using an Insignia digital converter box. I have a Motorola converter also, may see if that makes any diff whatsoever, if it has more audio options.

If you are able to receive audio on your chan. 50.3, can you share what your settings are on your audio? Here is a pic of the back of the set- https://flic.kr/p/DpFQfu lots of connections, but since I am using the converter the selection of audio inputs/outputs would not help me, I think.

I do have digital TV but this analog one is in my "radio shack"/crafts sewing room, which only OTA is used in there. I haven't tried checking the HDTV for sound on 50.3, as I need to finagle with the coax to swap it from CATV to OTA when the dear husband is not utilizing the set, I will try it later & if I DO get better audio, I will edit or reply here with my findings. This may not be until Monday as I do not want to interrupt his TV watching with my coax switch.

PS yes I am the female half of our "couple set" and I am the radio, TV, electronics nut in this house hold. I am forever fiddling with antennas, radios, neat junk I find second hand and I like to collect a few vintage electronics here and there. If a stranger saw my radio room they would think it was his. No it's mine. I even solder and do some fixing.

I would definitely try another television and/or another converter box. I find much of today's
electronics are inherently unstable. Sometimes a weak or fluctuating signal causes one of
my sets to go berserk. The other older sets don't even have a pixel out of place. You don't
mention what kind and where you have your antenna. That by itself, could be huge.....
You have no reason to be apologetic. I think it's great that you are interested enough in electronics
to experiment and learn......

Hey I'm only a month "late" lol- well a couple wks after I posted my question, they FIXED the audio issue! It was their transmitter. They were running the audio from their OTHER sub, the Mexican music video channel over the audio for this one. Frustrating trying to watch a sci fi film & hearing Ayyiyiyi mi quero.. BomBom Bom (oompah-pah Mexican music)

Now this station made up for it by having audio louder than any other channel on the set. It wasn't my set or audio settings that were "wrong", but I thought maybe just maybe! there was a setting I could CHANGE it to in order to rectify the issue. Nothing TO change as the issue was on their end and they weren't even sending the proper audio.

Thanks for help anyway!
