A Christmas-music-free zone!

Please don't accuse me of Scroogeism; I love this time of year but the 24/7 Christmas music gets a bit old after a while. My webcast listener numbers always
go up around this time for that reason. It's good to see I'm not the only one.

Me too. An occasional Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer
is all I need. Maybe watch Jean Shepherd's ChristMas Story
on TBS tomorrow.

I never got around to searching for that Susan Lucci
version of Christmas Carol. If it's on at all it'll
probably be tomorrow.

Right now I'm listening to Irish ballads on the PC.

Bah, humbug!!

Found a great Irish Space Ballad for 954

> Right now I'm listening to Irish ballads on the PC.

From: Star Trek: The Original Series.
'In 2268, under the influence of the Psi 2000 virus, Lieutenant Kevin Riley took over the engine room of the Starship Enterprise, and serenaded the crew with repeated renditions of 'I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen,' sung somewhat off-key'

http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/smhtml/audiodir.html#7608555

"I'll take you home again, Kathleen, Across the ocean wild and wide,
To where your heart has ever been, Since first you were my bonny bride.
The roses all have left your cheek, I've watched them fade away and die;
Your voice is sad when e'er you speak, And tears bedim your loving eyes.
Oh! I will take you back, Kathleen, To where your heart will feel no pain,
And when the fields are fresh and green, I'll take you to your home again."

bards, not borgs

Then you'll like "Do Virgins Taste Better Medley" ... A
parody of the "Irish Washerwoman" a traditional
reel of Ireland. This poses the question, "Why do
dragons always demand virgin sacrifices for their
layer?" from the Brobdingnagian Bards.

There was a great Irish song that I first heard years
ago in an old movie about a Scotsman in love with an
Irish lass -- in the 1800s I think. (The movie setting,
not when I saw it.) Right now I can't think of the song
or the movie. Anyone?
