No Competition for WGNA?????????????

Ok, why the heck is there no competition for radio station Country powerhouse WGNA???? There are 2 Top 40 stations, 4-5 different rock stations...At lease 2-3 lite rock stations...At least 2 *River* type stations...I'm SICK of hearing Avril Lavigne on EVERY station!!

You mean to tell me since Edward Levine *Oye!!* failed country station died...No one wants to do another country station??? At least he tried!

WOW!!

My 2 cents...

I think the problem is signal availability. What station with a strong signal would you change? You'd have to have a strong signal and just a decent format. GNA is not that strong in the format, or even as a radio station goes (but in the Albany market what station is even a good station?!), but you would have to at least get close if not even in signal strength to achieve the reach and saturation needed to take on a heritage station. Believe me, the mice run like crazy in that building at Regent every time there is a simple mention that someone is thinking about going country!!!!

Thank you, it makes sense.

'GNA sure could use some strong competition; their morning show s*cks and those 2 clowns can't even run a board. yet they still show up strong in the book consistently. I thought that Froggy would give them some competition but their signal to the south is weak to say the least. I see that they got rid of Bill early. That format, for the most part, is the same no matter where you go; when travelling to the south, I tune in WRWD in poughkeepsie; if it wasn't for different jocks you would swear they were the same station. But here's the point: ***-ulus started a country station here in poughkeepsie, 94.3, the wolf; ratings constantly in the dumper and never any better. The country listeners are pretty fickle and get use to one station and are reluctant to move to a new station; but the Woof plays some crap and I do mean crap thats not even close to country- Doobie bros, allman bros??? They deserve their spot in the dumpster. Unless somebody has the cajones to take on 'gna, they will be stuck with sean and richie.... :'(

Thoughts??? Flames??? kevlar suit on, fire away....

Now look what happened to WRWD and the Wolf, they had some competition for a country station, as for WGNA, no competition. It's still #1 in the Albany ratings.

Head hurting again.....if you watch the book, sparky, you can see that the Woof has never even come close to giving WRWD a run for the $$$; as I said before, the woof deserves its spot in the dumper by playing stuff that isn't even close to country..... ???

headin' for the Advil
