No hot AC radio in SC

I have been pondering this for some time now. How come there are no hot AC stations in the whole state of SC?

There used to be WALC Alice 100.5 in Charleston, WICI Mix 94.7 in Sumter (love saying that name!), WIGL Mix 93.9 in St. Matthews, WCSQ Coast 92.5 in Charleston (more of a bright AC though), and WGTN Cool 100.7 and 104.7 in Andrews. They have all flipped to different formats - why? Is there not an audience for hot AC? I want to see some hot AC stations!

In the Myrtle Beach area Star 92.1 which is said to be AC sounds much more Hot AC as they play more current AC hits. So in my book I call Star 92.1 a Hot AC as its far from the soft quite AC. Thus saying that former Sunny 96.9 in Charleston you couldn't compare that to Star 92.1 as Sunny was much more softer rock then Star is.
