Anyone else unable to boldface or italicize words anymore? All the items in the bar above the box I'm typing in have been "grayed out" and ctrl-I and ctrl-b don't work either. What's up?

I'm not having any problems with these functions. What browser are you using?
Chrome, on a Chromebook.
I'm also noticing that the quote/unquote stuff is showing up in text rather than producing a grey box around the quoted matter. Here's what I'm seeing right now.

Possible issue might be that this is an old Chromebook, unable to update version of Chrome running -- currently version 91, while latest is 93. So is the only solution for me to buy a new Chromebook?
I see that you're running Dark Mode. Have you tried using Default Mode?

Must be your browser. Perhaps it's a configuration issue.

No idea how the configuration could have changed overnight, with no input from me. Oh well, I'll try kevtronics' recommendation and, if that doesn't work, will just stop using boldface or itals and hope for the best.
