No jack, but Drew & Mel to mornings on WOCL

It was posted in an earlier thread that Drew & Mel were doing at seperate times what sounded like an on air audition for a morning show which featured typical morning show type talk and music (I only heard Drews show). According to a press release from infinity outlining what's happening to Howards infinity affiliates right now and in January it seems official, Drew & Mel will be doing the morning show starting in January (I assume there will be some music in there in order to compete with WJRR), and the current alternative rock format will remain. Sorry jack, no place for you here yet.

That's awesome, Frank, thanks for the great news! I hope they rock the mornings; I'm a fan of both of them and would love to see them do well. That's great that WOCL was able to both keep their format and have a local morning show rather than carry some syndicated crap!

No jack

the Jack format on Infinity stations is not syndicated programming.

Besides, most of the territory a JACK would occupy is being filled by WMMO.

wonderful...leave it to an Orlando radio station to re-cycle the same old crap again...

nothing new...nothing cutting edge...nothing innovative...hell, nothing worth listening to...

and for the record...i dont think that David Lee Roth or Adam Corolla are any of those things either...maybe i WILL get a Sirius unit...

Nothing like giving a show a chance before critiquing it, right?

Question for Drew fans. How long will they last?

I thought I'd just add on to this instead of starting a new thread. While I was not a regular Drew listener when he was on WTKS, the times that I did tune in I could not help but notice something. He had seemed to have three or four different co-hosts through out the several years of his 7:00-11:00 show. Does anyone know why so many changes? It was also pointed out in a different thread that while Drew was on WTKS he would make fun of Mel (her being on at the same time on the competition). IMHO unless someone at infinity sat down with the both of them and read them the riot act, I don't think they will last together for more then a year (and that's being generous).
