no local on WHAM radio

I find it frustrating that the 9-12 slot on WHAM has turned into the gun law/bashing Obama Tri-hour show. There is nothing local discussed. Its unlistenable. How many times over three hours can we say Obama sucks leave my guns alone?

How long have you been listening to that program? Just today? Local topics are discussed most days by Bob Lonsberry, who has a guest host in for him today.

Why did Lonsberry get fired from the D&C? I enjoyed his column(which seemed non political).

Didn't he "fire" himself by giving up his column of his own volition to go fulltime into radio hosting and on-air blogging?

No, he was fired. What I heard he just dug himself into a deep hole with management and co-workers. He was not well liked at the paper. I did enjoy reading his columns. Except for his occasional pro gun rants, I thought he had a lot of common sense and humanity. I was very disappointed when I heard him on the radio. I think he has mellowed thru the years but I still don't agree with many of his views on guns ownership. Otherwise, I think he has a lot of common sense solutions to many of local issues.

Besides Bob Lonsberry there is also a local sports program with Bob Matthews. WHAM has a 5 O'clock news hour which has a local anchor and local news reports.
So yes there is a local presence to WHAM; not to the extent the station once had however.
And let's not forget Chet Walker's morning show.

I do listen to NPR. I have heard nothing, on an editorial basis, about banning any kinds of guns. Yes, there have been plenty of interviews with people proposing gun bans, but just as many opposing guns bans. Sometimes you just hear what you want to hear.
