No more Bubba on Rock 104.5

Since Cox Orlando is displacing WHTQ 96.5's heritage Rock format with a simulcast of 580 WDBO as of this Friday - the clock may be ticking on Rock 104.5 WFYV. Could it be the "FY" becomes an "OK"?!

They just hired new talent for 104.5. Besides, even though it's not a full power FM, WOKV is already on 106.5. I'd say Rock 104.5 is safe.

My guess is that Rock won't flip unless there was a massive hole to fill..and I mean massive. 104.5 flipping would leave X open to attack from Clear Channel....now that the Market Manager who hated Planet left, could very well relaunch a version of Planet on 97.9 (if that Now thing doesn't do more than Kiss did). I still maintain that a Modern AC, not Hot AC, but MODERN ac on 97.9 makes a ton of sense between APE and X....but what do I know

If Cox were to flip FYV, the choices are limited because certain formats are taken or would hurt someone in the cluster. I'd vote mainstream AC and attack EJZ (similar to Magic in Tampa)...it's the most mass appeal on a giant signal.

That being said...let's not kill off any more rock stations, even if they don't play currents (hint...one or two current/recurrent tracks an hour wouldn't kill X - last time I checked, X isn't playing a lot of Mudvayne, Five Finger Death Punch, Avenged Sevenfold)

I wanted to dive in and clear this one up. WFYV-ROCK 104-5 is not changing to another format.

We did refocus the music on Monday and replaced Bubba with music in the morning.

Much as I love Bubba's show in Tampa, I think it was smart to make the change. I sat...throw 1045 some love and check out the library tweaks...I plan to listen when I drive up next week.

Todd, hope you are well dude! Glad to see you clear up things

Thank you Mr. Shannon for nipping that in the butt. While you are here, can you guys play the music that Mr. Schmidt recommended like Mudvayne and Avenged sevenfold? Just though I'd ask since I am an avid listener of the ROCK! Thank you!

Thank you Mr. Shannon. Rock 104-5 is one of my favorites... even more so with music in the morning!
