No more current dance music on La airwaves!

:( Its sad not to hear any current dance music on the radio, Movin and Kbig use to play dance in their mixes. Dj Enrie is no longer doing the Movin workout at noon, it has been replace with disco music and no more party mix saturday. Also no more boogie nights and thump radio. The only way you can hear dance is on Kbig HD2 and Power 106 on fridays at noon and their mixes. This reminds me when we lost groove radio and kdl. I hope 107.1 plays more dance hits!

While I suspect it's not the style you're looking for, both KCRW and Indie 103.1 have specialist programs that play current underground dance music.

Thanks, Indie use to have Element radio on sunday mornings. Thats no longer airing either. I think they have community service on friday nights. I dont get 89.9fm in the IE.

No offense but if Movin' and KBIG's mixes were your only source for Dance music you need a clue. Get XM and call it a day.
Movin mixes STUNK and KBIG was cheesy. It does not remind me of Groove Radio because that was a real dance station.

But the format is on the radio. To read the weekly posts on this board, you would expect there to be a ton of potential fans for a dance station in LA. What a great opportunity to promote HD and build the first HD station in the country to actually get ratings. Be an early adopter. Style yourself in HD and tell your friends. Start a viral campaign. Promote radio. Don't complain that it's not on the air, take advantage of the opportunity. Show enough support and maybe CC will move it to a better signal.

Yeah, the bugs with HD are being worked out, but it's what we have for the future. That is, if terrestrial radio is to have a future. 40 years ago fans of big band were in the same situation when all the good AM's started playing Rock N Roll and they didn't want to get an FM reciever. If we don't support innovation in our own industry, wi-fi and Ipods will kill the radio industry.

By the way, get a 3rd or 4th generation receiver. They are supposed to be significantly more sensitive than earlier models.

Emmis needs to go Active Rock on 93.9 and forget about Disco. Disco does not make a 24 hour station, never has, never will.

You are so right about 93.9...and an excellent young adult demo format to pair with Power. I also agree with you about disco. However, I think the point of the thread was about current dance music, which I suspect would have a tough time making it as a 24 hour format as well, but who knows? The club scene in Hollywood is pretty hot.....not that I would know first hand, since my wife and I had twins in Jan....now my only outlet of recreation is spending a few minutes here and there on this radio geek board.

I understand, I do have XM, and I listen to BMP all the time. I'm just saying it was nice to hear some classic house music on kbig and movin. Sometimes they will throw in a current dance song in the mix. Yes, it was better then nothing. La had some sort of dance on the airwaves. Don't forget, they had aired Thump radio everynight for current dance on Kbig. I really miss hearing that every night. I hope Myfm at least brings it back for Saturday mornings. That would be cool. For now, it will be just those two options I mention, plus Indie and Kcrw which I don't get out here in the IE.

what about power tools on power 106?great dance music.trance,techno,house.they have been doing powertools since 1992.
