No more ESPN Radio in Atlanta

When I woke up Saturday morning, I went to 1230AM to get a sports update from ESPN Radio to find that it is now carrying Fox Sports Radio. I guess until 680 picks up CBS Sports Radio, we get Fox Sports Radio on 680, 1230, 1340 and 93.7. I like Dan Patrick and Jim Rome, but not that much Is anybody picking up ESPN Radio, 24/7? Stikres me funny that we can now get ESPN Depotes, but not ESPN Radio.

Well now there is a hole for the ESPN radio brand. Where else can I go for Mike and Mike or the Herd? Atlanta radio is so terrible!

I noticed this morning when the John Kincade Show would be on 680 the Fan & they were running Fox Sports Radio. Too bad, that was good nationwide show with a local host. So what runs in the Herd's spot on the Fan now?

What station (AM or FM) that covers a good part of the market and could improve? My best guess for a candidate to pick up ESPN:1010, 1160, 1120 has an interesting Construction Permit, even 640 if the Spanish thing doesn't work out.

1010 and 1160 cover the entire market during the day but come close to shutting down at sundown. Which is now in the middle of PM drive and will be until we return to DST. Unless 1010 can get that elusive 25kW-DA night signal, the options for anything new on the AM band are between slim and none.

1120's CP still pretty much omits everything OTP in the northeast and southeast quadrants. Plus, it's still a daytimer.

640 with ESPN, HDR subchannel+ 92.3 translator ESPN Deportes?

I doubt 640 will go "English". CC has 105.3 and 640 and that should give them almost all of the Spanish / Hispanic Buys in the Market. According to Arbitron Atlanta's "Hispanic population is 458,800". If you had the only two stations in a covering most of market slightly larger than Chattanooga (455,300) you should make serious money! The Davis stations 102.3 and 100.1 only cover the northern part of the market.
