No more free AAR Podcasts

Starting February 7th you will no longer be able to listen to listen to archived AAR programs for free. When I downloaded yesterday's Randi Rhodes Show today from www.airamericaplace.com I heard a recording stating that I will now have to pay to hear the archived recordings without commercials. To get the recordings I will need to become a premium subscriber. Following are the rates for premium service

$6.95 a month
$29.95 for six months
$49.95 for a year

I presume that you can still listen to live feed of the programs on line.

I guess I will have to set my Replay Radio recorder to get the shows (with commercials) now.
______________

I was surprised they ever gave them away. Perhaps not coincidentally, Rush Limbaugh also charges $6.95 per month and $49.95 per year. I'm not making a political statement, but he was the first to jump into this in a big way and has pricing that seems to work. For $49.95 per year, you also get access to certain parts of his website, and video podcasts, but you only get one show. So I think AAR is a better deal. It would be like Premiere offering all their shows for $49.95 per year. Well, sorta.

This has been coming for a while.

In one of the AirAmericaPlace forums, the AAP admin (whom AAR hired to put this whole AAR Premium thing together for them) posted stating that the podcasts will continue, but will now be highlights of the shows, rather than entire shows; sort of like what Stephanie Miller is doing, making available segments for download every day.
______________

If they didn't screw the pooch with Sirius, I would still be listening to them.

At this point, I only listen to the Majority Report, and I only liked it when

Jeneane was on. I prefer Lynn Samuels these days.

They really should try to realign with Sirius.
