No more K-Soul??????.......

I was listening to 94.5 on the way home from work today and noticed that they did not say "K-Soul" on any of the drops. Just "94.5". Have anyone else noticed this?

One guess...Since KSOC has never really been able to beat KRNB (even with the better rimshot signal), I wonder if Radio One is going to tweak it along the lines of their WAMJ 102.5 in Atlanta. Like here, urban AC WAMJ never could take down its rival (Cox's WALR-FM). WAMJ was altered to be all syndicated shows last year, including talk shows, during the day (Steve Harvey, Baisden, Al Sharpton); the R&B music confined to nights and overnights. I think it just images as "102.5" now (used to be "102.5 WR&B"). Wonder if they are thinking about doing something like that here? Sharpton is part of their black talk syndicated shows...they clear it on their stations in markets where they have an AM station (WOL DC, WILD Boston) and syndicate it elsewhere, but their talk programming has no clearance here.

Rudy V. is on and all he is saying is, "94.5, The R&B Station". They don't even mention the classic soul even though they are still playing it.

Noticed some more things: Rudy V's show is no longer called "The Love Zone". He's calling it "The Rudy V. Show". He also said that soon he will moving from 6pm-10pm to 7pm-12am. Just wonder how will this will affect the other shows, (Lynne Haze, Mike Baisden). Back at KRNB, Shay Moore is officially the new PD.

Like txchipk said its sounds like the move RadioOne did here in ATL.

About 2 years ago: "CLASSIC SOUL 102.5" {All Classic Soul, All The Time}

Last Year or so: "102.5 WR&B" {Todays R&B and Classic Soul}

Current: "102.5 GROWN FOLKS RADIO" {no positioner}

6a-10a: Steve Harvey Morning Show
10a-3p: Al Sharpton's Radio One talk show
3p-7p: Michael Baisden
7p-12a: Si Man {local/slow jamz}
12a-6a: Grown Folks Radio {R&B and Classic Soul}

On the weekends including Sunday nights they do a live broadcast from various nightclubs mixing up tempo R&B and old school hip-hop.

KKBT here in LA went through that "frequency only" phase, then became V100(KRBV)

Anyone heard if Mayo is involved with Dallas? Mabye I smell a V94?
