Since "Waking Up With Whoppi" has been cancelled, has anybody heard what 93.9-KISS FM is going to do?
In my non-radio professional opinion, This may be a good opening for IMUS ??? ;D

Not so sure CC will be quick to pick up Imus. I suspect there are things in their stable they might consider first. Not sure what, but they will always look inside before they go to another company.

I do not follow the ratings (Books in the Profession ;D) Do you know what 850's ratings were before Imus and after Imus or is it to early to tell? Even if it is too early to tell, tell anyway!!! (I won't tell) :-X

wouldn't jb&b or imus require yet another full-station overhaul and format change? i don't see it happening. if whooopi's show is cancelled, my money's on something more ac like bill and sherry or whatever out of charlotte, or a more urban equivalent

How about a good, local, non-syndicated morning show? What a novel idea!

I only have access to the 12+ numbers posted on the Internet, but it appears The Buzz ratings are about half of what they were in the Fall of 06. The ratings on this board show them ranked 16th currently. Even with the old numbers, I suspect the bulk of their revenue is not ratings related. My guess is they do well enough in the male demos to pick up beer buys, etc.

I believe selling sports in a whole different animal than any other radio, particularly play-by-play.

You also have to consider the amount of money they had paid (and might have to pay) for the Imus program vs the revenue it brought in.

One morning show that I hope doesn't hit 93.9 is Bob and Sherry. Lord knows we don't need anymore 40+ something "yuppy" type morning shows in the triangle. Mix 101.5 is bad enough with all of the non-funny soccer mom banter and tired, old simple jokes.

the big show would stick out on Kiss like a sore thumb...I can just see Earth Wind and Fire or Cyndi Lauper coming on right after they get done plugging their hot sauce! haha

Fall '07 Bill & Sheri on Mix were rated #1 Adults 25-54. I love this board...if something doesn't appeal to someone, it sucks. I may not personally like the show or station, but respect the fact that they have been voted #1 by their audience. Sorry, there's just too many ridiculous posts on this board like the one above!

That's what makes America great. If you think my post is ridiculous, fine. I'm just stating the obvious. Mix 101.5 is an antiquated radio station, boring and not willing to play any "new" music. We can only stomach Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, James Taylor and Air Supply. The last time I checked, none of these artists have had an adult contemporary hit in many a year. They should open up their playlist and expand things to include a little more of today's AC.

I for one do not like the format or the morning show. It really needs to be updated. The same stale things day after day.

Okay, let's try this one more time...and this time I'll type a lot slower so you can comprehend. Could it be that the AC audience wants to hear music from the artist you mention above, don't have a taste for new music, and like Bill & Sheri? One must assume so since Mix is #1 in AM Drive and Women 25-54. It is obvious that you are not an AC listener, and wish 101.5 would change formmats to please your musical taste. Class dismissed.

I have to weigh in on this. Bill & Sherri couldn't even SEE #1 from where they ranked the last three or four years. So Sunny goes away, WRAL flips to Christmas and now they're big stuff????? Please!!! Looks to me like GreenGene is another Captiol lifer. Could there be a larger group of unmotivated, uncreative losers anywhere than the people who work at WRAL radio? Okay, I'm jealous.
