NO more Monday night wars WWE vs TNA

Depending upon what you believe either Dixie Carter or Spike TV realised they made a stupid move to move TNA to Monday night.TNA returns to it's Thursday Night timeslot this week with a pre recorded episode.

It's to bad they could'nt do live shows on Thursdays.

Speaking of TNA.

WWE released a few superstars last month and a friend of mine reads some of the blogs of the TNA roster and aparantly Mickie James and Shelton Benjiman will be jioning the TNA Line-up after thier 90 day No compete runs out. Also Torrie Wilson is rumoured to to be joining TNA.
They have been trying to bring on Paul Heyman as they(TNA) have quite a few ECW alumni now and ECW is now dead.(Thanks Vince, for destroyng a good product)

Mickie James (not sure of her real nameAlexis or something like that) started on TNA I think when it first came out.

Wrestling fans and the new TNA braintrust (namely, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff) both got it wrong about Monday Night Wars, version 2.0 because they forgot why there was even a first version: Ted Turner, his networks, and his dolla dolla bills. If trying to beat WWE Raw head-to-head was the goal, there should have been a looooooooooong term approach to doing it instead of a two-three month stunt.

In any event, it probably wasn't a costly gamble for TNA: When Impact had to go up against the three-hour 'WWE Draft' edition of Raw, the Thursday night replay drew more viewers than the original Monday telecast. It was getting a fairly reliable audience of about one million viewers before the timeslot shakeups, and the show can probably return to that easily. TNA now has a third hour to fill that same night, so that's just more exposure for their wrestlers and storylines.

As for TNA, it smelled too much like a late-90s WCW but on a lesser scale. I'm so glad to see their experiment failing! :)

(warning--rasslin' fan rant ahead)

Very fair complaint. I know there are fans who still get a kick out of the late 90s/early 2000s WCW/WWE/ECW players--I'm one of them. But the last thing TNA should have done was refer to those old storylines/talent so much as they have--most of those guys just aren't relevant in 2010, nor are they as capable performers.

Ric Flair--very good 'mentoring' AJ Styles. Not good being a throwaway main event attraction in 2010. Scott Hall and Sean Waltman--just as unreliable in 2010 as they were five years previously. Why are they getting paid?

I think it was too soon to pull the plug on TNA Monday Nights. They barely did a few episodes.

I also think it was too soon to go to Mondays. Yeah, they have been on Thursdays on Spike for a couple of years, but they should have waited until they were in a better position, with wrestlers, storylines and ratings.

I agree on both parts.

But at the same time Spike was determined to save a content provider for the channel and give it it's own night like it does to UFC.

Overall TNA tried to be a mixture of WCW and 90's WWE with the end result leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

None of the young guys benefited because they weren't truly developed, they were just thrown in there without any guidance I feel.

The older guys (Hogan, Flair, Sting, and even RVD) look SO OLD on TNA and, other than Flair, very inmovable in the ring.

As for the WWE, by not competing means they looked even more weaker then they did when it start; only Edge's acknowldegment of "giving a reason" for spearing Orton as

an obvious rib to Sting's whiny respone to Hogan last week was the only true excitement in the 2 month war I thought.

It shows that Wrestling is NOWHERE near where it was 10 years ago in terms of quality matches and strong, compelling storylines; it seems to watered down at this pont

I am surprised that Sting hasn't jumped to WWE. How many other Former WCW Wrestlers have never wrestled on WWE?

It's almost excruciating to see Ric Flair in the ring. Mentor-yep; performer-no. Watching TNA too often resembles an imaginary riot at a nursing home. Time to focus more on 'the Blueprint' and less on 'Blue Cross.'

WWF and TNA are old news. UFC and Strikeforce are what the cool kids watch now!

Also, if you have HDNET on Cable/Satellite they will carry a PPV quality 6 hour live Japanese K-1/Dream show called Dynamite!! 2010 late night new years eve for Free. Alistair Overeem and a slew of other great fighters may just pull off a spectacular show this weekend. (note: they don't test fighters for steroids in Japan but the trade off is that most don't do English promos/interviews.)

I'd bet money that the next "Monday Night Wars" will be the UFC going live every week against Vince McMahon. Is there any doubt who will win that battle? It'll probably end the same way the last war ended... except this time the UFC would wind up buying WWE.
