No more Pork

I see another site is reporting that Porkys last show on WEDO has came and gone due to only getting one sponsor. Wonder if any other stations will pick him up?

I don't see him landing anywhere. I kind of wonder why he doesn't try to get into WYEP...they can at least take listener contributions to support his show. Outside of that, I don't think he has a whole lot of options left.

Just found out about that...at least there he can do his radio his way...the way it should be. Worldwide!

Good for him!

I guess he was not up for trying to replicate the Frankie Day model?
Maybe at 92 he just does not have the energy to put that many hours a week
into running a nonprofit.

My dad will love this news. As an older guy he wasn't apt to seek out the smaller signals but I put the shortcut to Phil's station on his desktop. He listens all the time and loves it.

While I'm happy Pork is still with us, and knowing his past health issues, I think we should just let him enjoy retirement. Let's face it, he's not what he used to be and most likely willl not be able to do what he used to do. Let's just give him the right for his dignity and privacy. However, if this is what PORK wants and not others (like his wife and old has been radio friends), then great. Let him enjoy himself.

That being said, I think Phil wil be most respective of Pork's time and will be a great handler for him.
