Couldn't agree more. I can't listen to them any more. They are sooo into themselves. I met Roula once, and she was really rude.

I made a donation because I am an animal lover (and both my dogs are rescues)...but I could not STAND to listen to either of them...and the "reading" of the little info videos with Tubby and the guy from the Buzz were terrible IMHO (nothing against Tubby...he is a great guy but obviously is better on radio than trying to read a teleprompter on TV)...could have been done better...I know that some "personalities" are needed to get local interest in such...but R&R?? Not anymore please! (one reason I DO NOT listen to the morning Mix...I used to when Larry and Shelby and others were there...)

I'm a huge animal lover as well and to sit and watch two untalented people use a charity event to pump their pathetic radio show was just sad. Alan and Sherry from the WB were professionals, they were there for the animals, not their news show. Lisa Foronda and Mario Gomez from KHOU were excellent, along with John Getter, Meera from 104 was great, and Christie from 93.3 was also good.

Roula and Ryan just won the Houston Chronicle "Best Radio personalities" The only reason they won was because they BEG their audience to vote for them. I bet that they were the only ones that even mentioned the nomination on air. Ithey are the " best" kill me now

Begging for votes seems to be a big thing among media personalities. Dayna Steele of BizRadio sent out hundreds of emails begging for Chronicle nominations as did Ernie Manouse on Ch. 8.

Ego, ego, ego. Still probably is not going to save Roula/Ryan from the axe in about 5 weeks. (Cue the Sam Malone music....)

I am not a " hater" But roula and ryan are so lame that I hope for their demise. if the rest of the world looks at houston radio and hears Roula and Ryan and judges us we look like fools. i don't know about Sam Malone and the new mix morning show but I pray he takes over.

I remember seeing Sam Malone on that telethon too. Talk about tired old crap. He's still doing that "See ya" thing and he looks like he is 60. Maybe we could lift one of his chins and count the rings of fat around his neck to determine his real age. It was actually the guy from the buzz that kept plugging his show. As far as R&R winning best radio show in Houston, they probably won by default because everything else in this city is tired cliched garbage. Can't wait for Sam to come back on the air so I can hear stellar conversations with congressman Gene Green. Boy, the city is clammering with anticipation for that one. Who is the idiot that decided on brining a has been back to Houston?

In Defense

For those of you that just sat there watching your TV all day, I was actually there and saw what went on. Everyone plugged in their stations or what they do. It wasn’t just the buzz guy or R&R. Also it wasn’t just a gig, I was there talking to many of them and they were actually asked to come on and do it, it wasn’t just a gig sponsored by their company, so for them to spend the day doing that for free...more power to them. Also many of them were thrown on the spot, it was chaotic there, and people were filling in for people, because they were off doing another section. The personalities there did not write the cards, they were provided by the SPCA

Re: In Defense

Okay, the live stuff I can understand, but the taped segments...C'mon! Am I supposed to believe that the SPCA reached out to an unemployed DJ like Sam Malone? More than likely, he saw it as an opportunity to get his face on there in preparation for his launch. None of that guy's appearances are done out of conscience or compassion. Gimme the mic would never put him on as a judge if he were going to do a two hour talk show on KTRH. The finale of that stinker is Sept 15th which means that Sam will plug his new show on 96.5 on the big finale. Anything Sam does is coordinated to superserve his own selfpromotion. I think H-Town is gonna be yawning real soon! The most humor challenged old school puker is about to return to the airwaves. I wonder what other TV show he can get himself on to plug his upcoming gig? The early morning Channel 2 thing was short lived. He was soooo bad, they had to end those Sam The Morning Man segments. Ohhh, I've got a charity Sam can do on TV! It's called "The Support Psycho Robbie Fund." Although he would probably draw the line there since he was the one who put him in the unemployment line.

Sam would have done a much better job hosting a live telethon....chaotic or not!

I saw Sam too...for about 10seconds! We had to put up with R&R pushing their call letters NON STOP and talking about themselves....we get it....now help the animals...thats why they were there....not to talk about themselves and their show

This has got to be one of the single most worthless threads among all of the other worthless threads on this site. Who cares who was on the telethon and if they pushed their station or not? What kind of life does it say you have for sitting around and watching the thing?

This is pathetic. You know why? Blackhawk1 is non other than Sam Malone himself. What a loser!

So what if it is Sam Malone. Roula needs to go bad! The little that I actually do listen, I only hear her talking about "that food establishment" that her family is associated with. The best was a break I heard her do when she was at KRBE.

"You know, sometimes when I am changing the marquee outside my family's restaurant Christie's, I look at all the passing cars on Westheimer and think, these people driving by have no idea that the person that is changing this sign is actually Roula Christie from KRBE!" Yes. That was an actual break I heard many years ago. She's pathetic! And rude, it's true. And no, I'm not jealous of her, trust me.
