No One is at Home at 'DJO

A handful of 'DJO listeners have enjoyed the very same ABC newsbroadcast from November 8th for the past 10 days at 8:55a.m. When no one at the station has caught the obvious repeating of dated news for over a week and a half that has to tell you something. Hello????

The system is not grabbing the new news file and replacing the old one.

That probably wouldn't happen if they'd air the live feed at the top of the hour.

Jon - You might want to check on your own WCVX... I heard a Veterans Day weather forecast yesterday (Nov. 18th)!!!

I know. We are having a scheduler problem.

There is an upgrade or patch of some kind that my IT at Corporate is looking in to.

One slight error with a file and there you go!

The joys of automation!

Sometime in the middle of the afternoon - I think between 3 & 3:30...

Wow, Ken.

We checked the system on that forecast. It was RFN's (Rod Tanner) screw up and they actually apologized to us.

Thanks again.

WDJO is basically an oldies station. Old music, old news, works for me! Did you hear that Russia launched something called Sputnik? ::)

Don't feel bad - I just heard Wednesday's forecast today (Thanksgiving) at 1:45 on the Buzz! Must be endemic...

I yearn for those often...I'd so love to know how many people have called a request line, got no answer several times and wrote whatever station off as a result. The industry had one of the best customer relationship on earth : a live jock, reachable via telephone. And they junked it to save $10/hr.

Boy, I do too Bob. I remember back in 1974 when I would call WKRQ, when they were still in the little building behind the station, and actually get Pat Barry on the phone to request a tune. I did that several times and you always listened to make sure he played your song. I even have an aircheck where he dedicated a tune to me and mentioned that I was getting married soon. Guess we are certainly living in a different age. Part of the reason we all own Ipods I guess.

Called Pat Barry once on Q, was polite, and he was a royal jerk.

I worked for Taft in 1975 and walked into the little studio with a couple of young ladies for a brief tour. Mister Barry greeted me with "we don't have the facilities for a studio audience and would you kindly leave?". So NDXU, add me to the list of folks who were polite to Pat and was treated in a less than courteous manner.
