No one mentioning AC/Cape May Numbers?

I happen to listen to 99.3 KISS-FM today, and for the year and a half that it's been on, no jocks, no specialty shows, no NOTHING! What's the point of flipping to Top 40, then going BACK to the original format and not do anything with it. This station sounds like an Internet radio station on a transmitter. I don't know how they are still in the Top 5. WZXL is showing their true colors as a "Classic Rock" brand, and yet with a flamethrower Shark has, ZXL beat them by .3, Hit 106 has no data for AC, meanwhile 106.5 covers AC and north of the area. SoJo getting punched down, WAYV on top of the "Hot AC" game, JSE doubled in ratings. Let the Wibbage posts continue, but they debuted with a 1.7.

IMO
jse...had no where to go but up
wibbage...about the same they had in wildwood
mgm...lost it's luster, and personality, keeping their head above water
sojo..run of the mill
ayv...always does ok, 'cause it stays the same
kiss...runs like an ipod on fm for the kids

just a side note...checking web sites today and find it funny how stations claim to be #1 when ratings come out.
ZXL and Shark both claim to be #1 in rock. I guess in a break down here and there everyone is #1 in something.
Just funny.

JSE sounds better and will continue to move up in the ratings...Shark and ZXL are interchangable and prob will stay close together...AYV is consistant and has a loyal listenership...However 99.3 was turned to top 40 for one reason..to block the JSE , Shark cluster from going CHR. KISS is consistantly in the top 5 so the Gary Fisher, Equity Communications thought process that Jocks are not important is represented....What a waste of a frequency cause that station could sound great with some TLC. As for SOJO I know I'm in the minority , but I like the station and think it's doing a good job.

Kiss Fm is technically not a Top 40 station now, so they could drop their hit music slogan since they are Rhythmic. Even then someone can still do a Top 40 Mainstream CHR in the market. Not necessarily JSE or Shark to flip, but Millennium can sure drop the Hot AC to WAYV and go after the format that was #1 in the market for a while.

I know KISS is no longer top 40 I was explaining the initial flip.

How did WMID do...

I hope Gary keeps them afloat, where else on the dial are you going to hear...Whenever a Teenager Cries-Reparata and the Delrons, The Boy Next Door-Secrets, Imagination-Quotations, Guardian Angel-Imaginations, with the heavy dose of British, Beach, Soul, Folk, American-Canadian, Country and Instrumentals. This station never ceases to amaze me with their unending playlist.

Hopefully nowhere ... I never heard of any of them.

My personal peeve is that Arbitron does a report twice a year. In the summer there is no place with more people than at the Jersey Shore. The winter book is extremely important because that would tell advertisers what stations people are listening to around the most important advertising days of the year.

I epxect WEZW to generate some numbers.. hopefully wzfi will get something too.

What makes you say that?

WZFI is 78 watts from western Cumberland County, the signal doesn't even touch Atlantic or Cape May Counties. They do have that 38 watt translator in Rio Grade but that only reaches Southern Cape May County. WWFG from Maryland reaches more of the market than WZFI & it's translator combined.

WEZW will be lucky to get a 0.5 with that limited signal combined with the large amount of competition in the area from numerous Adult Contemporary and Oldies stations.

That is what the FALL book is for....advertisers (smart ones) use that info to plan their early season ad bugets and plans.

WZFI/W250AK won't show up in the public numbers anyway since it's a non-commercial station.
