No rebate from Ibiquity after 3 months

I bought an Accurian HD radio at Radio Shack in late October. I immediately sent the receipt and product bar code to Ibiquity, but I have never received my $25 rebate. Did anyone else have the same experience?

That's too bad, but as we know, rebates are not guaranteed - this, has happened to someone else, too:

"bought an Accurian HD model from Radio Shack exactly 8 weeks ago. I still have not received my $25 rebate check from Ibiquity. Did anyone else receive their rebate from them? Hopefully, this rebate is not a fraud..."

Well, this technology is a fraud and a farce ! iNiquity has received their final round of investment money, so with such anemic sales of HD radios, reflected in the downgrading by Bridge Ratings, maybe they are running out of funds ! :D

I have not received a rebate either. I purchased mine on Black Friday and sent it in on Saturday.

Ditto Black Friday and sent it in the following Thursday.

the consumer protection agencys, were used to force sirius and xmsr into better performance on this very issue.....some even obtained complete refunds based on certain statements that were mis-leading...or found to be factualy incorrect and contained in the advertisments and promotional artwork..

I fear some of the information furnished to retailers by Ibiquity, will also fall into the same area... like more stations, format's, fresh content, data services, stations between stations, better am..more music ect.

Its ok to have a wish list for the future, it should never be marketed to the public as heres what you get as the current material does ........

Description of HD Radio as defined by iBiquity:

HD Radio is a new technology that enables AM and FM radio stations to broadcast their programs digitally, a tremendous technological leap from today's familiar analog broadcasts. These digital broadcasts provide listeners with radically improved audio quality and reception and new data services. Signal fading, static, hisses and pops are a thing of the past. Data services such as displayed song and artist information, weather and traffic alerts and much more will revolutionize the way you experience AM and FM radio. And it's all FREE for consumers, just like today's analog AM and FM radio.

the sad part of all of this is, none of this will fix whats basicly wrong with radio, to quote mediaweek .

i hope you folks get your rebates

Just, received our $200 rebate from Cingular Wireless, after 7 weeks - too bad, you will never see your rebate from that shista, under-handed company iNiquity ! :D

Re: No rebate received from Ibiquity after 3 months

HD Radio Reabte Check Recevied ! !

I just received my rebate check from the fullfillment company that is processing the HD Radio Rebates. I originally mailed in my request for the rebate on 11-1-2006, so, including the mailing time to and from, it took 12 weeks to reach me, which is over 3 weeks longer than the 6-8 weeks that the fullfillment company orignially told Ibiquity that it would take for them to process the rebates.

So, if things proceed along that timeline with the fullfillment company, then all of the rebate requests mailed in around Black Friday, should be arriving on or before Februrary 26th, 2007.

If the check numbers for the rebates started with 1, then that means that there were over 600 rebates issued before my rebate.

Looks like, iNiquity is making people wait a full three months, to make sure they don't return their cheap, Chinese-made HD radios - I wonder, how they handle processing rebates, after people return these junk radios, for lousy reception, and the same old lousy, repetitive programming.

AFAIK You can't get a rebate without a sending in a UPC on the box. You probably can't RETURN anything without the UPC on the box either.

Here's an idea...
Maybe they're SLOW...

I will say that my Office Depot Flatscreen rebates (There are two) I bought on Black Friday along with my Accurian haven't been received either.

I would suggest that maybe the "Rebate Idea" is to blame ond not some secret "They will return the radio so we won't give them a rebate" scheme.

The whole idea of rebates is to make them so unappealing that a lot of people will never even send them in. If they do, it usually takes so long to get them that you forget what it was for, when and if it eventually comes. I doubt seriously that this one is any better than any other you've ever tried to get.

No doubt, iNiquity is running short on funds, with such anemic sales of HD radios - this unscrupulous company, is probably using the rebate money, as a last-ditch effort.

It was mentioned:

iBiQuity IS unscrupulous... but I am sorry to say that they aren't using rebate money as a last-ditch effort.

The (rather reliable) word on the street is that a few weeks ago iBiQuity once again found a substantial infusion of new funds from an investor or consortium of investors.

The problem is that investors and financial people generally don't understand the technical issues involved and get pitched a bill of goods by its chairman into which they ultimately commit speculative resources.

So iBiQuity isn't going out of business anytime too soon with the infusion of new capital. And if the friendly candy company keeps helping them, then they WILL ultimately survive, regardless whether or not that survival is in the public's best interest.

People... if you believe that this company will do more to ruin radio than it will to help it, the time to speak up and speak up loudly is NOW, particularly those of you who have engineering backgrounds and can demonstrate and illustrate that the full implementation of this technology will hurt rather than help the radio broadcast industry and its normally loyal listening public. If you don't, then we may be "stuck" with HD forever.

Right on the mark, again!
Speculators (gamblers), unscrupulous promoters, guerrilla marketers, and "golden parachutists" have their own agendas that seldom coincide with the public good.
Remember Enron!

If they are flush with fresh cash, then why the rebate delays?

Yes, quite interesting that iNiquity, based in Columbia, Md., would be drawing from a bank in Clinton, IA... :-\

Almost all rebate programs are handled by third parties. The companies that do it are frequently located in some rural setting where workers are inexpensive and grateful for a job.

You don't have an office in midtown Manhattan to send out rebate checks.
