That does not mean that the FCC denied the WLNP renewal. Whenever someone files a Petition to Deny against a station's renewal application, the FCC will set the application aside until it can examine the issues raised in the Petition to Deny. If the FCC feels that the Petition has merit, it will designate the renewal application for a hearing, where attorneys for Lloyd Roach and Route 81 Broadcasting will have an opportunity to plead their case. Otherwise, the FCC will simply deny the Petition and renew the license. Meanwhile, WLNP will be allowed to continue operating until the FCC makes a decision on the renewal application, since Route 81 Broadcasting filed the renewal application in a timely manner.

The decision will appear in the FCC Daily Digest. Depending on what the FCC decides to do with the Petition to Deny, this matter could drag on for years. The WXUR case comes to mind.
