If you get your local CBS Station through Paramount Plus, Hulu Live, and I imagine You Tube live as well, you are seeing a "Sorry, we can't stream this station" card while Rudolph The Red Nosed Raindeer airs on CBS. You must have Cable or your own antenna (This happened last year I think) Who currently owns the rights?

No Rudolph for some cord cutters

Luckily I do have an antenna to recieve my CBS station so problem solved, but that's not the point. These shows were made in the 50's and should be available to the public eye regardless. That's the sad road that the Charlie Brown Holiday Specials went down. Apple TV got all the rights from ABC, and then PBS had to fight them to make it public. I guess now this is going to happen to Ruldolph too. Five years later: "You need a Paramount Plus subscription to watch this movie as well as Frosty and Santa for a limited time only"
Meh, they're available on the internet to stream.
I have a VUDU account and a lot of these movies were available, but no price, just "add to list." Odd, but I will definitely check around the internet.
just buy the DVD, then you can watch it in July, this isn't 1972 where you could only watch it one night a year
no love for these misfit specials, many of these that haven't aired anywhere in years
I did check last night for the fun of it, and yes, my Hulu account does not in fact let me watch it on CBS. Luckily, this dummy remembered to do some digging, and it turns out I never got rid of my Holiday VHS tapes during my last Spring Cleaning. Yay!
Well, I was going to say something along that same line but you beat me to it.
Rudolph aired BEFORE Thanksgiving? Sheesh, CBS. Bad decision, you lost 50% of your audience from 2020 because back then, you aired Rudolph AFTER Turkey Day as it should be. And DWTS had their finale. Even I didn't know it was on that early.
At least CBS is waiting until after the Thanksgiving holiday to run Frosty. And usually Rudolph gets a Saturday night repeat sometime in December as well.
Heck, why bother with the current runnings anyways. CBS has chopped and sliced and diced the show over the last 10-15 years, taking segments out for more commercials. I've got a tape from 1988 that is not digitally remastered, yet has fewer commercials than the 21st-century broadcasts. If I ever want to watch Rudolph, I can...and it has the 'Fame & Fortune' song that CBS plasters over nowadays.

No one complains they don't run the NKOTB cartoon holiday special or Alf's Special Christmas anymore

Will anyone be complaining about missing Jimmy Fallon's special in 50 years? Rudolph Frosty, and Charlie Brown are the .01%ers of holiday specials, most aren't even made to run year after year anymore
their deal (likely made pre streaming) probably doesn't include streaming rights
Or the Star Wars Holiday Special.

I've seen the others multiple times and it has been years since I saw any of them.
My daughter loved Rudolph and thought he was bigger than Santa until she was about 5, and watched it year round. Now she's 18 and is more into Marvel and Sonic the Hedgehog.
