No true 80s stations in Fresno

We have stations that play the 60 and 70s KABX,KHIT,KJFX,KMGX,and KJWL and we have stations that plays 90s and beyond KRZR,KFRR,KBOS,KWYE, KSEQ, and KVPW ,but with the exception of KKBZ that is good with the 80s METAL music ,there no mainstream 80s station that plays artist like the Fixx, The psychedelic Furs, Ultravox, Simple Minds, Peter Gabriel, Tears For Fears, The Ramones, Missing Persons, The Call, After The Fire, Falco, Duran Duran, The Dream Academy, and even hits by Journey-Only the Young and John Waite. we have several choices to hear Fleetwood Mac (which is one of my favorite), but why can't we have a good 80s station. Am I wrong or what?

I was hoping, what with the "80's 90's Now" moniker, that Y101 would have dont it right.
They are playing decent music, but more of a Top 40 approach rather than a 80's 90's approach. It is more "Now" than 80's 90's as I hear more currents than anything with a fairly quick burn time.
I think Peak dropped the ball somewhat and should have programmed a little heavier on the 80's and 90's than the Now. Fresno is just not the proper market for a mainstream Top 40. Rap, Mega, Movin' (if we had one which Mega is similar) are the formats that hit home here. I think if 80's and 90's were showcased a little more on ANY station, that station would see a good bump in the numbers.

I also agree about Y101, it is better than it was, They should have done more 80s, 90, and not too much Now, especially since PEAK dumped JACK which was the closes to 80s we had.

all you guys are correct....80's and 90's is a huge void in fresno...from what i hear y101 will go even more "now" and continue to go younger and hipper

just heard the CURE on KXJK from Minnesota, this JACK-FM station is good, I hope we can have a 80s and 90s station soon. If it's CC or what ever. side note that 105.5 should have thought about that instead of this so TALK RADIO that nobody will listen to.

I just heard 'Wishing by A flock of Seagulls' on a JACK station. JACK was a bad format I just wish somebody would do true Modern 80s. It seem like other JACK stations dig deeper in the 80s modern rock more than 105.9 did.

I don't think there on any True 80's station in any of California. Yes, there maybe a station that plays the 80's but along side it they also plays 70's or 90's. A true 80's station is when they play nothing BUT the 80's and stations like that failed like KIOI-101.3 San Francisco in 2000, KHOP-95.1 Modesto from 2000-02 and KCCL-103.9 2003-05/KCCL-92.1 2005-07 in the Sacramento Area.

What I meant is with the loss of JACK there's no stations that play 80s even along side 70s and 90s except KKBZ 105.1 The Blaze for Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. Everybody else is 60s and 70s or 90s and beyond, leaving out MAINSTREAM and MODERN 80s. I do like THE BLAZE and Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music, but I like all types of 80s music.

Fresno still needs a Triple A station, with a lot of stations duplicating the same formats we need a ALTERNATIVE like KFOG 104.5/97.7 or KPIG.

I have seen other posts on other boards that Fresno is over radioed with too many signals, the problem it that there's too many stations trying to do the same formats, which I agree with, but there are formats not covered and TRIPLE A is one of them.

VH-1 Classics is doing a all 80's count down from A-Z this weekend and going to dedicate the 80 for the next 6 days, A lot of songs not heard on Fresno radio with the exception of The Blaze and The fox that do play hard rock 80s. when will Fresno radio figure out that we need more 80s for those of us 35 and older. Y101 claiming to play 80s, 90s and now does very little 80s music. WE NEED JACK BACK.

Jack was poorly programmed. All over the place with horrible segues and music that just didnt flow well. If someone were to put together a "Jack Like" station and program it properly, it could do well, but no one programs anymore. No one cares about flow nor do they have time to care what with everything else that has been heaped on them after the "streamlining" of staffs.
