No, you DON'T need a radio station to do a show!

NOT a misprint: 2500+ attendees jam podcasting convention

Just-added @ http://members.aol.com/cookeh/pme06.html: more photos, and a couple quick audio clips from two successful podcasters I had the pleasure of meeting this past weekend at the Ontario CA Convention Center.

There was an Elvis impersonator...in a chicken suit. And a TV reporter whose crew didn’t seem to notice he wasn’t wearing pants. There were more T-shirts than suits...but more suits than last year...at the 2nd Annual Portable Media Expo.

I also met people passionate-about –- and interacting with listeners worldwide who are passionate-about –- baseball history, Orange County CA, childcare, wine, knitting, entrepreneurship-for-women-displaced-by-corporate-downsizing, clinical neurology, YOU NAME IT.

No Talk radio convention has ever pulled a crowd HALF the size of the 2500+ who came to the 2nd annual "Woodstock of podcasting." Nobody on-air in Talk radio should be missing from the podcast space.

Good evening from Washington DC
