The other day while riding my sales route, I noticed something odd in the 530 am range. NOAA Wx radio is broadcasting on that freq. Is this something that the feds are doing for safety, Or is there a pirate that is using this freq
for the purpose of broadcasting weather information? Didn't mean to bore anyone
but this just seems weird.<P ID="signature">______________

The FCC has designated 530 AM as the frequency for Traveler's Information Stations. I believe Georgia DOT has a few stations. That is what it might be.

I thought they were used for traffic information. I guess they broadcast NOAA radio when there is no traffic to report.

Re: 530 AM is TIS frequency

Ironically, it also rated higher than Air America and GST. But, of course, so did the static between all the other channels.
