Nobody at CBS News New York?

I'm not sure why Austin stations would be expected to do anything special for President Bush. The networks all ran pre-packaged obit pieces. I don't know what KXAN doing another one would have meant.

For what it is worth, Senator Cruz and Senator Cornyn did not release statements until after sunrise Saturday morning. Texas governor Abbott did post a remembrance of George and Barbara Bush on Twitter a couple hours after the Bush family announcement.

To summarize, I disagree with the FTVLive columnist, because there was nothing Austin-specific to say.
