Noel Neill, 95, Superman's original Lois Lane

She originated the live-action Lois in the 1948-54 movie serials, with Kirk Alyn as Superman, as well as many other movie roles in the 1940s and early '50s. She replaced Phyllis Coates after the first season of the TV series, beginning in 1953.

She passed away yesterday in Tucson AZ after a long illness. No actress who ever played Lois Lane was better, before or since. RIP, Noel. :'(
