In Chicago, WCIU now airs "Family Guy," five days a week at 6:30pm and WGN shows "Family Guy" at 11pm on weekdays. Both run "Family Guy," various times during the week.
Now I noticed that since WCIU acquired the rights to "Seinfeld," (FOX WFLD owned it prior and moved it to FOX owned WPWR the Chicago MyNetworkTV affiliate), WGN is also showing "Seinfeld."
Seem like WGN and WCIU (and it's sister stations like Me-Too) are sharing programs. WCIU also picks up Cubs games when WGN can't show them do to CW commitments.
WCIU also shares "Dr Phil," with WBBM (CBS O&O) in Chicago.
Now I know other stations share reruns but as far as I know, it's always when the stations are co-owned by the same company or co-managed.
My question is, in other markets, do TV stations that are not co-owened or co-managed (through an LMA or whatever) share reruns or syndicated shows?
