Non-comm Bluegrass coming to Moultrie

Colquitt Community Radio is preparing to bring a non-commercial bluegrass station, WBGP, to Moultrie on 91.3 FM. Clyde Scott, Jr., is the president of Colquitt C.R.

I've been told it will begin broadcasting this month but don't have time today to track down specific information. FCC database shows the station as licensed.

Clyde is a great engineer and I wish him the best with the new station.

I thought Clyde retired from the bluegrass business a year or two back. He had a good web based stream, the AM, and one of the first 250 watt translators simulcasting the AM.
Even though I can't hear it I'm glad it's back on the air. There just can't be enough bluegrass on the airwaves!
I've never met Clyde but have always heard only good words about him both personally and professionally.

In a market such as Moultrie, bluegrass music should do well and attract a large following. I'm sure there will be no problem assembling local sponsors / underwriters to support the new non-commercial venture. I wish Mr. Scott much success!

man, Moultrie is so close yet I'm going to be way outside this stations range. No coverage of Thomasville, Camilla, Tifton or Albany... not even any coverage of I-75... Shucks

What is the COL and call letters of this station? The only NCE-FM i can find assigned to Moultrie is WBGP 91.3 and is showing as licensed. I haven't found any new CPs.

WBGP is the station they are talking about. Clyde Scott is president of the board which holds it's license.
They used to program an AM station - in Thomaston(I think) which had a 250 watt translator associated with it. That was back when they also had a stream on the internet.

Right, Mark - WBGP is the station I was referencing.

Clyde Scott was a contract engineer on occasion for a station in Tallahassee where I used to work. Great engineer and nice guy. I also remember the Internet stream he used to have but don't know if he is planning to stream WBGP or not.
