Non-compete clauses

I have this friend in another market (in Oklahoma) who says his employer made a non-compete clause a part of his contract. His contract is coming to an end but the job market for radio right now is a wreck. He may be forced to take a job with another local station in competition with the current employer.
The state of Oklahoma is notoriously unwilling to enforce non-compete clauses. (rightly so imho)

What is the status in Colorado? Do Colorado courts uphold non-compete clauses for broadcasters?

I'm not a broadcast atty, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. If the contract expires and is not renewed/renegotiated, then the non-compete expires with the contract.
