I am new on the non-profit scene. Getting involved in local boards. Doing homework and found what seems to be excessive salaries for executive directors. Take WXXI for instance. Mr. Silverstein is making $374K. Seems like alot! And I found http://www.normsilverstein.com his own site to advertise for his "consulting" services. The number he gives is not WXXI's so I assume it is either his personal number or a company paid cell phone. Is this appropriate? Geesh the guy makes a ton of cash. Sort of sours my desire to get involved with Non-profits. Is this normal this kind of craziness?
