Noon News

It seems that all the noon newscasts have moved to a single anchor format.

Ch.2 - Fred Blankenship (Pam Martin has been absent from the desk for some time)
Ch.5 - Lisa Rayam (forever & ever, amen)
Ch.11 - Jill Becker (Karyn Greer disappears after the morning shift...)
Ch.46 - Helen Neill (nothing new here)

Maybe it's an economic move...? Does anyone have any definitive word on any permanent changes regarding the noon newscasts?

Seems to be sort of a trend in several markets, including Birmingham. My thought: Not enough audience viewing the midday news to warrant lots of people or big production values.

ACTION NEWS 2 and FOX 5 noon newscast are both 1 hour long. Seems as if both would have double anchors at the desk. Lisa Rayam on FOX 5 has always been solo at noon same with Helen at CBS ATLANTA(46).
