Now I'm assuming BLAZIN 102.3 should be ready to take down 96.3WJIZ.
 
Details please...I used to be affiliated with the station in another life as well as a brief stint as the first manager of Hot 106. I understand that the sister station 105.7 in Ashburn is dark and has been for a while. What's happening? This inquiring mind wants to know.

I know that the combo of WRXZ and WFFM have been up for "bids" for over two years. The radio group I had been affiliated with at the time was tring to get only WFFM and was unsuccessful due to the fact that the owners was wanting to sell BOTH. The only option was to find a buyer for WRXZ that would pay the difference of what the owners wanted for the combo and what our group was offering for WFFM. The problem was the expectations was too high in my opinion.

Anyways, about six months ago, talks resumed with my ex-radio group to purchase WFFM. I figure someone was found to take WRXZ. The plan for WFFM was to flip it to Black Gospel. I've since moved on to another radio group. I'm very curious what format WRXZ would flip to. Anyone else know what's going on?

Actually, it's Blazin 102.1. Blazin 102.3 is based in Tallahassee.
 
Suggestions for 106.1

How about some suggested new formats for WRXZ/WFFM?

News/Talk 106.1/105.7: Southwest Georgia's only news/talk FM. Similar to WRPG-103.9 Hawkinsville/Warner Robins, and WVGA-105.9 Lakeland/Valdosta. Would compete against WALG-1590.

WSRA Simulcast: Assuming the Lifeline company buys both stations, WSRA-1250's coverage could extend as far away as Cordele or Tifton. Which would make sense since WSRA runs 1,000 watts during the day, but only 53 watts at night.

Urban gospel: Since another poster mentioned that there was a plan to put urban gospel on WFFM, why not go with that format. Besides, WJYZ-960 could use the competition.

Any thoughts?
