NOPE

Hey there-

I've very much enjoyed the 'speculation game' on these boards, nice to be remembered and it's great for No Name that he's gotten some air time back, he deserves it, as for me, I'm not gonna be on The End again, it's just not gonna happen...but thanks for the fun!, kooks! ;D

ps- I wanted to use this forum to thank Dave Richards for his support over the years, when I got canned, he was on the phone within an hour offering airtime at KISW, he was also instrumental in the shifts I did at the Mountain, Thanks Dave, I appreciate your honesty... ;)

D-ro,

I want to wish you the best of luck with whatever it is you end up doing. I am sure part of you is happy that you won't be involved with this sinking ship known as the End.

This station is a joke. Andrew Harms can come on here every few months and post a thread about "changes" they are trying to implement, but this station has been struggling for ages. Dick you might stay neutral on this, but the FACT is folks like Pounder and Jordan Silver do not belong on the a station in Market 14 while folks like you and Jim Keller are off the air. Sorry if that offends anyone reading this thread, but it is the truth.

So now here we are auditioning folks to take over mornings and frankly they stink.

Just wanted to add to my previous post after accidentally submitting it before I finished. I am all for developing homegrown talent, or giving some stand-up comedian or has been rocker a chance, but give them the time and experience they need to grow in slots that don't make or break a station ratings wise. By doing otherwise, you just show listeners in the Seattle area that you've pretty much given up on returning the End back to one of the more popular alt stations around the country. And that is really sad.

I'm not sure if I read you right (very few who reads my posts ever goes into anything resembling DEEP thought ever does.) But here goes.

First, alternative radio *SHOULD* be what the very name of it professes it to be. "Alternative" which has meant (in commercial pop text) "Different", "Out Of The Ordinary", "Unique", something like that.

"Alternative" is NOT "mainstream" in it's very essence and definition. It meant something different, unlike anything else you've ever heard. Or seen. It was bold, in your face and just THERE And not going away quietly either.

I look at KNDD's playlist and I laugh. "Feel Good Inc." Gorillaz? "When I Come Around" Green Day? Are you KIDDING me?

Compared to Triple J, they are an OLDIES station.

So I'm actually GLAD KNDD is willing to let some indie minded musicians take over in the mornings and MORE power to 'em.

It's like this : You got a radio station with 58,000 watts of power from Bellingham to Aberdeen. Why not squeeze every last drop of it out by influencing upstart music talent? And be willing to play THEIR music? Some of the most exciting and innovative NEW music I've ever heard came from surprisingly non-commercial sources......

The key to mornings is to get people to listen for long periods of time, right? Having an entertaining morning show that gets listeners to come to the station, then stay for the music is the key here. If you want personality free radio, get an iPod or listen to a JACK-FM station. I am not in Seattle but have listened for a few days online, and I like what I hear. Having a morning show that get's the highest ratings of the day is the goal. Having a musician talk about the road is nice as a guest, but as a host? Three words come to mind...DAVID LEE ROTH. As long as the show is funny, interesting, live and local, it will help re-build this station and I wish them nothing but the best.
