Since 6 and 7 are owned by the same company, they probably had a 7 mic flag and she just cut a stand up for them. During Channel 4's coverage on wednesday, they also went live to aerials from Chopper 10.

This is common between "sister stations." For example: specifically between the Sunbeam-owned stations in Boston and Miami. A Miami reporter (from WSVN) often does "live shots" from Miami for WHDH in Boston...and vice versa.

Something related: At 5am Amy Buckman was at the Taj in Atlantic City reporting on the re-opening of the casino. What was odd was she was standing in front of a blue Eyewitness News Van, (the Van was very large)with the Channel 7 logo but with the Channel 6 Mic. Later @ 5:30 she moved away from the Channel 7 News Van. Wonder if she also reported for Ch. 7.

Perhaps, WABC was running the "live shot" for WPVI. Perhaps WPVI didn't or couldn't get their own live truck down there for whatever reason. It's one of those "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" kind of things.

As mentioned before, this is common among "sister stations" and fellow affiliates. For example, a Philadelphia station may use that market's fellow affiliate's satellite truck for live reports while covering the Eagles on a road trip...if that particular Philly station did not send their own satellite truck i.e. WPVI may use WJLA's truck while in Washington covering the Redskins.
