Norman Wain: Terrestrial radio isn't going anywhere

Just a couple of slight corrections on KGBS/KTNQ. We semi-automated with a huge IGM machine we called "Mongo" in 1975. We never eliminated the FM country air staff. When we split the AM from the FM in 1976, we utilized 3 of the Ten-Q jocks to voice track nights on KHTZ (the country FM) in addition to their regular shifts on the AM. TEN-Qers Nancy Plum (who'd been with us a few years), Joe Nasty and John Driscoll did the night tracking. The regular FM on air Staff were myself 5 to 9 a.m., Chris Lane 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (1 hour VTd) and Ron Martin 3 to 7 p.m. Brad Edwards was with us for a while doing evenings. When he left, they added the evening TEN-Q tracker. Also, Ron Martin was PD. I was his humble servant as Asst. PD. Ron was without question the the very best and nicest PD I have worked for in over 46 years on the air. Thanks for your indulgence.

Bob Morgan.
