North Georgia Rumors

Lot's happening around NW Georgia... (1) Supposedly Cumulus is courting Southern broadcasting for its Rome, GA stations. Also in Rome, word is that WLAQ AM and 95.7 The Ridge are on the market.

(2) Former WSB talker David Paul is hosting the morning show on NewsTalk AM 1270 - WYXC in Cartersville. (They also stream at NewsTalk1270.com). While not for sale, this is one tight, well run station in a rapidly growing county. They are at 2,000 watts but can go to 10,000 with a directional. It would be a great op for someone who wants to hands-on own a station.

(3) The FCC bidding for an FM frequency in Gordon County may be thrown out. Seems the successful bidder is actually a station manager for Southern Broadcasting in Athens, Ga, but listed Texas as his address. Lots of irregularities on this one.
