North Shore 88.7 signal --easy listening

Heard last night and today and it wasn't a case of being next to a car with an FM re-transmitter:
a signal on 88.7 playing easy listening--orchestral versions of pop songs with the occasional
vocal. No IDs, PSAs, etc. Heard it on Rt 128 from Peabody into Beverly (yes, at 88.7 but could
be heard despite closeness to WERS) and today from Beverly into Vinnin Sq. Salem/Swampscott.
It didn't splatter onto 88.9 but sometimes 88.9 splattered over onto them.

Unless it's some signal bouncing over the water from Maine, it sounds like a case of someone
throwing on computerized playlists of music on an illegal signal...not sure if anyone else has picked it
up. North Shore based? Cape Ann? Radio-locator freq search shows legit stations in Colchester (St
Michael's) and Rutland (VPR) VT; West Haven CT (U-New Haven) ; Smithfield RI (Bryant). Doubt
it's any of them

I was out for a drive around parts of Cape Ann and environs; it didn't come in so well in downtown
Gloucester or Manchester-by-the Sea but was stronger is Essex and to some extent the western
part of Gloucester. Maybe emanates from Annisquam, Essex, or Ipswich? Had been coming in well
on Rt 128 in Danvers/Beverly/Peabody but that's higher ground.
