North West Arkansas Radio

After looking at other markets in Arkkansa and the Ozarks. Northwest Arkansas is the worst sounding market for radio. The market has top notch sports station and coverage, but that is it. Companies are jsut satisfyed to have radio stations that sound bad. I am not sure what they are think at 94.9, but that muisc doesn not fit this market. I am curious to see how it sells. We need some new ideas here for better formats.

thats true....when i worked in that market....many many years ago....it was programmed by actual people who breathed and had a pulse...not a robot in dallas or chicago.

and if you think those are bad.....take a listen to kths 107.1 in berryville....holy crap.....i mean...just holy crap. there seems to be no format thought other than they play country music. it is without a doubt....the absolutely worst programmed station i have ever heard.

most of us would have been fired on the spot for things they do as the norm.

take a listen..if you can stand it.

Thank God for [email protected]!

Not sure how well the AAA/Modern AC format will sell around here, but it is MUCH better than having a FOURTH station playing Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Kruz and the fact that we have 3 sports stations are the bright spots for NWA radio.

Has Power 105.7 been whittled down to just one local personality? As if Kidd Kraddick and Billy Bush wasn't enough, now we have syndicated Rick Dees (now 60 years old!) doing middays.

I don't have a problem with Kruz 94.9, my only question is..How will it work here in Northwest Arkansas? Are the people here ready for that kind of station. Doesn't anybody beleive that an Oldies or Greatest Hits staion would work here. I remember K 95.7 doing well in the ratings

You are right - NWA is not as good as it should be - even the BIG GUYS are dull - formated - and lifeless. I invite anyone reading this who thinks they can change NWA RADIO to come here and do it - if you are on the air in NWA at the present time - stop tracking and do it live once in awhile (BIG MIKE, I'm talking to you) - take a chance - have some, fun for god-sake and bring the listener along with you. Make RADIO fun again - it still can be - I truely believe that - but my time here is nearly over - Radio is still the most exciting - motivating - inspiring - MEDIUM out there - not limited by pictures, paper or time - GRAB the listeners by the EARS - make them LOOK at the radio dial EXPECTING to SEE something - THAT IS HOW IT IS DONE (or was done.) Forget everything you were told by consultants - IT'S NOT JUST THE MUSIC - IT'S THE JOCK - so BE ONE!

While visiting Dallas over the weekend, it was good to hear a good Oldies Station. Good to not hear the same old tired songs you get here. Someone up here needs to wake up and stop being lazy and do good radio!!
