Northeast Comm. pimps their morning shows!

I'm sorry but I couldn't help but think of how worn out poor Amy Bates must be at the end of each morning!!!

If you take a gander at the broadcast FM trio's websites you'll notice that every station has Amy Bates as their sidekick. I'll give her props because that's gotta be tough. Funny thing is though, they are NOT ashamed at all! Well at least they own up to it. I mean can you imagine if they made her go by 3 different names??

...and for the money-shot: http://www.inflatableamy.com/welcome.html :D

Hmmm, I wonder if there's an inside joke with that last site?? (I mean I came across... :-[ uh... I thought of some pretty rowdy headlines before settling on one that's a wee-bit more subdued out of respect for Amy.)

What's meant by your headline?
... and why would Northest Communications be ashamed to use Amy in more than one capacity? It's a comon practice today among most radio clusters - small to major market. It's also common among TV operations these days too.

It was a play-on-words on exactly how used Amy is in the cluster, particularly in the same daypart.

It's not that they should be ashamed, it's just that in my experience (albeit 10 years ago) stations loved to voice-track on multiple stations, but rarely ever wished to admit to it. Many jocks used a pseudonym (or alternate one) for the other stations. Not sure if management suggested it to them or if they just decided to do it on their own, but sometimes an alter ego was desired for different formats, so you kinda changed your name so it didn't sound to radio-freaks like ourselves that we had a split personality. lol (How can he be so nice and soothing on one station, and in-your-face on the other? That's what I like to call talent! ;D )

By all means, it's super cool that Amy can do it. And it's really not a whole lot different than a newsie swapping from station to station, but it is considerably unusual for a morning co-host to do it for three stations with three seperate formats, especially in NH! (The way things were going in NH, you were lucky to GET a co-host! lol)
